My Ideal Sunday Reset Routine (Even If I Don’t Always Stick to It)
Let me be honest, sometimes my Sundays are all over the place. Sometimes I’m running errands, scrolling through TikTok, or recovering from the chaos of the week. And while that’s okay (because rest is productive), I’ve been thinking a lot about what my ideal Sunday Reset Routine for Soft Life Girls would look like.
Not the “perfect girl on Pinterest” reset, but one that actually works for me.
Because Sundays, when I use them intentionally, really do make my week feel softer, smoother, and more grounded. So this post is for the girls who are trying, who don’t have it all together yet, but want to feel just a little more aligned before Monday hits.

1. Meal Prep (but make it realistic)
My ideal Sunday starts in the afternoon, maybe around, 1 or 2 p.m., with music playing, the windows open or the heat on depending on the season, and me in the kitchen prepping meals for the week. Nothing fancy. Just meals I know I’ll actually eat.
On slower weeks, this looks like me just planning out my meals in my Notion, and making sure I’m hitting my necessary macros. I love cutting corners when it comes to cooking and will try to sneak in pre-made meals for my lunches if I can!
This isn’t about spending five hours cooking. It’s about saving future me from the “what am I eating today?” spiral. If I’ve got some high-protein meals lined up, a few snacks, and a stocked fridge? I’m already winning.
2. Hair Care + Protective Styling
Next up: hair.
Whether it’s wash day, braiding it up, oiling my scalp, or just throwing on a deep conditioner and vibing out, it’s going to happen. I feel so much more put together when my hair is cared for. It’s like a personal love language.
My favorite haircare product at the moment is Miss Jessie’s Multicultural Curls. It’s a one-product banger for my braid outs; it’s super moisturizing and gives the perfect hold for a fluffy braid out. Which I do often nowadays since I have heat damage.
A good hair routine is a non-negotiable part of my Sunday reset routine, because feeling put-together starts with the way I treat myself.
EDIT: I’m bald-headed now, so yeah.
3. Planner Reset + Weekly Layout
You already know, I live by my planner.
So Sunday evening is my time to sit down with a cozy drink, light a candle, and actually map out what’s happening. I write in my work schedule, gym plans, blog posts going live, content creation days, and anything personal like birthdays or events.
I also love some good planner stickers so I add those in, and I use markers to color-code. It’s literally my peace.
Even if I don’t follow it perfectly, having a layout gives me peace. It lets me walk into the week with intention instead of anxiety. That sense of control is what makes this part of my Sunday reset routine feel so essential.
Also, you don’t need the fanciest planner, mine was $8 from TJ Maxx and it works perfectly for my needs. 4. Clothes + Gym Fits for the Week
This one is lowkey a game-changer: laying out all my outfits (yes, including my gym fits) ahead of time.
I check the weather, make sure all my laundry is folded, and plan what I’m wearing to work, to the gym, and anywhere I need to look cute. No more scrambling in the morning or re-wearing leggings that I swore were clean.
This step isn’t about perfection, it’s about reducing chaos. And it’s another vital piece of my reset routine. The less I have to think about on Monday morning, the better.
5. The Cozy Evening Reset
After all that, it’s time to slow down.
Ideally by 7 p.m., I’m showered, candles are lit, and I’m in bed with a book. No screens. No noise. Just me, my Kindle (or a paperback), and a full wind-down.
This part of the reset is spiritual. It tells my brain: “we’re done doing today.” I try to read for at least an hour, but honestly, sometimes I fall asleep early and that’s okay too.
That moment of stillness at the end of the day? That’s the heart of a Sunday reset routine. It’s how I anchor myself before life starts moving again.

Final Thoughts: Reset Routines Are Personal
This is what my ideal Sunday Reset looks like. I don’t always hit every part of it. Some Sundays I do half. Some I do none. But having this vision makes me feel grounded. It gives me something to return to when life gets chaotic.
And if you’re someone who craves structure but still wants softness, I hope this inspires you to build a Sunday reset routine that feels doable, dreamy, and uniquely yours.
Because that’s the point of a reset: not to be perfect, but to feel supported by the systems you create.
See you next Sunday, babe.
And don’t forget to light that candle.
